BSc in Computer science

Our BSc in Computer Science is a three-year open-access Degree that aims to train undergraduates into professionals able to design, develop and manage complex information systems and computer networks, using up-to-date technologies and methods to develop applications and services. Graduates will have a solid grounding in the basic principles of modern information processing and transmission systems, architectures and programming modes. These highly competitive skills are greatly sought after in the workplace (freelance enterprise, public administration, services, data centres, banks and insurance companies, research), and graduates will be also in a prime position to continue their studies if they wish to pursue a career in research. 60% of students gain some kind of work experience during the course, about 45% are in employment one year after graduation, and 97% of these are satisfied with the training received (source: Almalaurea Report 2017).

Indeed, students on the BSc Computer Science programme can benefit from our integrated internships and projects, thanks to our links with many companies and research centres. The programme also includes specific training in applied Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science geared towards sectors such as information systems, parallel and distributed systems, architecture, graphics and image processing.

There are numerous research opportunities available to students, with current fields including numerical optimization, reconstruction of tomographic images, and distributed calculation.
