MSc in Mathematics (Laurea magistrale) is a two-year second-level degree that provides students with advanced knowledge of Mathematics and high-level skills in problem solving and related methods. It prepares for responsible positions in the scientific industry, management, finance, services, public administration, or independent mathematical and scientific research. Graduates are fully prepared to take on a PhD in Italy or abroad, or a second-level Master or compulsory programmes for prospective schoolteachers. Our MSc in Mathematics is characterized not only by scientific excellence, but also by the wide range of options we offer within the syllabus. The study programme is enriched by workshop activities and completed by an internship – in a company or school – in Italy or abroad.

Máster Universitario en Investigación Matemática

The Department of Applied Mathematics of the Universitat Politècnica de València and the Departments of Algebra, Geometry and Topology, Mathematical Analysis and Applied Mathematics of the Faculty of Mathematics, Universitat de València, offer an interuniversity master of academic orientation and research that is aimed, primarily, at student preparation for the future construction of a doctoral thesis. In fact, this master is the training period of the PhD in Mathematics, inter-university program UPV-UV with mention of excellence, to which, achieved the master degree, you enter in a direct form. The general objective of the Master is to train professionals, researchers and professors of high academic level capable of generating, disseminating, teaching and applying new mathematical knowledge in the basic sciences and engineering. It is intended, therefore, to provide students with specialized and advanced training in mathematics, as well as to prepare those who wish to continue their research training in order to carry out a doctoral thesis. Students can face problems and techniques more related to the lines of research that develop the different researchers of the departments that participate in the program.

Thanks to an agreement with the Universitat and the Universitat Politécnica de Valencia, from the academic year 2017-2018 our students can take advantage and obtain a qualification that is legally valid in both Italy and Spain. Students enrolling on this programme attend their first year of study in Valencia and the second at our university, taking their final exam in both cities.
