title: Dynamical degrees and entropy.
Abstract: Dynamical degrees describe the growth rate of the iterates of a meromomorphic self-maps on a compact Kahler manifold. The notion of entropy is another way to measure the complexity of a map. The two notions are deeply related. I will discuss some recent results and examples relating these two notions and equidistribution problems.

In particular, we will focus on some motivic motivation and on birational properties of geometrically rational surfaces, which were studied in a joint work with A.Auel.
We will end by considering some threefold and fourfold examples under this perspective.

Birational geometry of symplectic varieties: smooth and singular versions
Abstract: In this talk, we will survey results on the birational geometry of symplectic varieties, that are hyperkähler manifolds in the smooth setting, and primitive symplectic varieties in the singular one. In particular, we will deal with the Kawamata-Morrison cone conjecture and the tools involved in its proof. The result in the singular setting is part of a joint work with Ch. Lehn and G. Pacienza.

The moduli space of complete collineations is roughly speaking a compactification
of the space of linear maps between two fixed vector spaces, in which the boundary divisor is simple normal crossing.
The space of complete collineations is a spherical wonderful variety.
Exploiting its spherical nature we will investigate its birational geometry.
More precisely we will compute the effective and nef cones, the Mori and moving
cones of curves and the generators of the Cox ring. Finally, we will determine the
Mori chamber decomposition of the space of complete collineations of the 3-dimensional
projective space, and as a consequence we will recover a description of the Mori chamber
decomposition of the space of complete quadric surfaces due to C. L. Huerta.
This talk is concerned with the free boundary problem for 2D current-vortex sheets in ideal incompress-
ible magneto-hydrodynamics near the transition point between the linearized stability and instability. In
order to study the dynamics of the discontinuity near the onset of the instability, Hunter and Thoo [1]
have introduced an asymptotic quadratically nonlinear integro-di erential equation for the amplitude
of small perturbations of the planar discontinuity. We study such amplitude equation and prove its
nonlinear well-posedness under a stability condition given in terms of a longitudinal strain of the
fluid along the discontinuity. We first present the problem and discuss some known results about the stability
of current-vortex sheets; then we give some new results on the well-posedness of the Cauchy problem
associated to the amplitude equation.
This is a joint work with P. Secchi and P. Trebeschi.
