Quality Assurance

Organizational structure and responsibility for quality assurance at departmental level

The Department's Quality Assurance (QA) system fits into and works in coordination with the University's QA System. It is structured on the basis of the indications of the University Quality Assurance (PQA) which supervises the carrying out of QA procedures in its function of liaison with the peripheral structures responsible for QA.
I Direttori di Dipartimento condividono le responsabilità circa il miglioramento della qualità in ambito didattico con i Coordinatori dei Corsi di Studio e con i Coordinatori dei Corsi di Dottorato di Ricerca. The Department Directors are responsible for the quality improvement policies regarding the activities and services relating to research and the third mission/social impact of their Department and the support for teaching of the Degree Courses (CdS) and Doctoral Courses of Research relating to the Department. The Department Directors share responsibilities for improving quality in teaching with the Coordinators of the Study Courses and with the Coordinators of the Research Doctorate Courses.

The Department plans, monitors and reviews departmental activities within the three missions (teaching, research and third mission/social impact) through the drafting of a departmental plan, in line with the University's strategic plan, specifically defining objectives and actions (supported by indicators and targets). The results of departmental planning are monitored and reviewed annually. To carry out these activities, the Department makes use of research and third mission/social impact commissions that support the Department Director.
The documentation relating to the planning and monitoring and review of departmental plans is shared and approved in the Department Council, according to the deadlines established by the PQA.
